Old Girls’ Scholarships and Awards


Every year, our Old Girls’ Association and the St Mary’s Foundation offer several scholarships, awards and prizes to St Mary’s Old Girls.

To apply for a scholarship, you need to be a Life Member of the Old Girls’ Association. If you are unsure if you are a member, please contact us as oga@stmarys.wa.edu.au or (08) 9341 9132. Please note that all students who completed Year 12 after and including 1996 are already financial Life Members, thanks to the generosity of the St Mary’s Foundation. To become a Life Member, please complete this form.

2025 Women of Distinction Awards

The St Mary’s 2025 Old Girls’ Association Women of Distinction Awards are now open!

These awards recognise and celebrate the exceptional achievements and contributions of former students to their profession and community.

There are three nomination categories – Career, Community and the Young Women of Distinction Award.

Nominations close 5pm, Tuesday 27 May, 2025.

Career Award

Acknowledging an Old Girl who has achieved significant success in her chosen career.

Community Award

Acknowledging an Old Girl who has substantially improved the quality of life for members of her community beyond that expected in their usual occupation.

Young Award

Acknowledging an Old Girl who has demonstrated outstanding initiative and drive in her chosen field with a focus on leadership, professional commitment and personal achievements such as community service and other personal contributions. The nominee should be aged 30 years or younger as at 1 January, 2025.

The Ethel Beaton Old Girls’ Association Scholarship for Years 11 and 12

For the daughters and granddaughters of OGA Life Members.

The Marlene Carter Old Girls’ Association Scholarship for a Year 7 student

For the daughters and granddaughters of OGA Life Members.

Congratulations to this year’s recipient, Eve O’Kane (Year 7 in 2025), daughter of Gemma Modra (’99) and granddaughter of Jaye Modra (Penny ’71)

The Jane Gillon Arts Award for a Year 12 student

For an outstanding student of Dance, Drama, Design, Media, Music or Visual Art entering Year 12.

Congratulations to Caitlin Forbes, who is the recipient of the 2025 Jane Gillon Arts Award.

The Diane Porter Prize for Citizenship in the Junior School

The Diane Porter Prize for Citizenship is awarded annually to a Year 6 student.

The OGA Citizenship Prize and Shield

The Old Girls’ Association Prize for Citizenship is a cash prize awarded annually to a Year 10 student who has been a good all-round citizen and has been involved in many school activities. Prize winners also receive the Old Girls’ Shield for one year.
